ME – My Exercise with Arthritis ACT


My Exercise (ME) is an umbrella term for ‘Building a Better Me’. Exclusively with Arthritis ACT, we offer you the opportunity to take control of YOUR health and well-being. Our exercise classes are carefully designed to help you achieve specific health goals, whether it be to be able to hang the washing up pain-free, or go up and down stairs, our team of Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists is here to support YOU!! 


Covid19 Update

As the rules around group exercise are being relaxed most land based group exercise programs are recommencing. Please contact us on 1800 011 041 to book you place. If you would like to join our classes but you are still uncertain about attending group classes, please contact us for options we may be able to provide to meet your needs.

Classes are conducted at two locations in Canberra. If you are housebound, we can bring the program to you.

My Exercise caters for all levels of ability and mobility. Details of each class are provided below.

M.E SHOULDER/UPPER BODY CLASS –  $35.00 per class

An exercise class for people experiencing shoulder/arm pain, tendinopathies, rotator cuff issues, limited range of motion, over use and strain injuries of the upper limb. Exercise will focus on strengthening muscles for joint stability and pain management to maintain functional capacity.

M.E BACK PAIN CLASS –  $35.00 per class

An exercise class for people with lower back pain, disc injury/degeneration and thoracic/lumbar instability. Exercises will focus on strengthening muscles to stabilize the spine, improve posture and decrease pain.

M.E LOWER LIMB CLASS  –  $35.00 per class

An exercise class for people with hip/knee pain, including pre/post-surgery. Exercises focus on improving the strength, balance and stability of the lower limb.

PILATES CLASS  –  $35.00 per class

A low impact exercise focusing on muscular flexibility, strength and endurance. Initial class will be floor-based and held ar Bruce on Mondays and Pearce on Thursdays.

Entry-level exercise program tailored to meet your individual goals. Classes are kept to small numbers with participants provided with individualised exercise programs.

* home classes which can be a regular home visit by one of our Exercise Physiologists or a visit to provide you the program and instruct you on how to carry out – we do advise checking in every few months at a minimum if you take this option – are charged at home visit rates. NDIS clients who are not self-managed will be charged the NDIS small group rate for exercise groups.
