Your Dietitian – Erica Roughton
My name is Erica! I am an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and am passionate about empowering people to take control of their diet and to develop a healthy relationship with food. I get excited assisting my clients to achieve their nutrition goals and I do this through one on one counselling, personalised goal setting, individual nutrition planning and giving you tailored evidence based advice. As a wife of a busy husband and mother of two small children and a fur baby (my dog) I understand that life gets hectic, motivation lacks and putting yourself first becomes all too hard that is why I offer ongoing support in a way that suits you and assists you to stay focused on your goal.
More formally, I have completed a Bachelor of Human Nutrition and a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Canberra. I continue to build upon my knowledge by choosing to undertake continuing practice development and maintaining my association with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), of which I was the President of its ACT branch executive.
I have worked with people from many walks of life while working as a clinical, community and rural Dietitian. I have assisted in the development, revision and provision of community based nutrition programs and have worked in the areas of Aged Care, Cardiology, Oncology and Gastro. More recently I have developed a keen interest in diet for pain management and joint health.
If you would like to make changes to your diet lifestyle, seek advice on what to eat for a specific health condition or would just like to see if you are “on the right track” please give me a call or stop by to make an appointment. I am looking forward to meeting you and assisting you to achieve your goals.
